Default value for a custom field

Having a default value for a custom field would allow for currently blank fields to at least have a value in them, especially if the value is mostly consistent across the organization. It saves time from having to always manually update a field.

Bulk update note on transactions

On the same page where the bulk update has check boxes for Capmaign, Appeal, etc, it would be helpful to be able to change the notes for the transactions as well. Could save a lot of time.

Ability to lock a constituent record so that it cannot be merged

We have many records of people with similar names and sometimes these records get merged when they shouldn't be. It would be great if we could lock VIP records to prevent them from being merged or deleted.
