It would be so much more useful if the Highlights on the Timeline would take into account any soft credits that a donor has given (via donor advised funds or whatever other mechanism). Right now we have several donors for whom the highlights read "donor has lapsed" or "donor has downgraded," but they have actually given even more than in the past... just via donor advised funds rather than directly as a check donation. I feel that, since this does not accurately reflect the donor's giving/generosity, the "highlights" feature is not the strategic "at a glance" tool that it should be. Right now I have to remind myself, "don't depend on that" when I look at the highlights. Which if that's the case, why is it even there?
Related to this request - the capability to filter on the soft credit's original transaction would be extremely helpful for separating out DAF donors (very important donors who's giving we need to track and combine with other forms of giving) from the conventional soft credit constituents (usually a kind, helpful individual, not a financial institution) who facilitated a gift.
