Streamline Opportunity Creation - Too many buttons to push to get an opportunity created

When creating an opportunity, there is far too many steps that have to take place just for a volunteer to sign up in order to volunteer for that opportunity. I feel as though you should be able to create an opportunity and not have to assign several different tags, create roles, shifts, times, enable, disable, just for a volunteer to see an opportunity and sign up. This process needs to be tailored and trimmed down to many less steps.
