Enhanced Email Analytics for Outgoing Communications

Issue Summary:

We would like to request the implementation of enhanced tracking and reporting capabilities for email communications sent through the Bloomerang Volunteer system. Specifically, we are seeking detailed visibility into user engagement with our outgoing emails (who opened it, when & did they unsubscribe).


The Main issue:

Currently, we do not have sufficient insight into how recipients are interacting with the emails we send. This limits our ability to evaluate the effectiveness of our communications and to take proactive actions based on recipient behavior (e.g. re-engagement, troubleshooting unsubscribes, improving timing).


Requested Functionality

We are requesting the following features:

  1. Open Tracking

    • Ability to see which recipients have opened an email.

    • Timestamp of the first open and, if possible, the most recent open.

  2. Click Tracking (optional but beneficial)

    • Visibility into whether recipients clicked any links within the email and which links were clicked.

  3. Unsubscribe Tracking

    • Notification or log entry when a user unsubscribes via a specific email.

    • Include timestamp and identifier for the campaign or email message.

  4. Analytics Dashboard or Exportable Report

    • A centralized view or exportable report (CSV/Excel) for each email campaign showing:

      • Total sent

      • Open rate

      • Click rate (if available)

      • Unsubscribe count and rate

      • Bounce/Delivery failures (if available)
