Daily Email Automation for Volunteer Shift Assignments

We would like to request the addition of a daily email automation feature in Bloomerang Volunteer that automatically sends a summary of volunteer shift assignments to Opportunity leaders and managers. This feature would provide a snapshot of who is working which shifts for the day without requiring managers to log into the system.

Key Benefits:

• Saves time for Opportunity leaders/managers by eliminating the need to log in daily.

• Ensures managers have up-to-date information on shift coverage.

• Helps identify shifts that still need volunteer coverage, allowing teams to quickly engage additional help.

• Improves communication and preparedness for the day’s volunteer activities.

Proposed Functionality:

• Daily email summary sent to designated Opportunity leaders/managers.

• Email to include:

  • Date of shifts

  • Volunteer names and assigned shifts

  • Open shifts (unfilled)

• Settings control in the system to enable/disable the daily email for each Opportunity.

• Option to customize timing of the email (e.g., morning or prior evening).

Why It’s Important:
Currently, managers need to log into Bloomerang Volunteer daily to check volunteer coverage, which can be time-consuming and easy to overlook. Automating this process would streamline operations, improve oversight, and support proactive volunteer engagement.
