Payment confirmation receipts let the donor know that their transaction has been processed, and it's standard to send them for all online payments (ie processing a credit card or eft).
But the existing payment confirmation receipt feature also sends receipts for all offline payments (ie check, cash) and third-party online payments (ie credit card processed by another system that's just being tracked in Bloomerang CRM).
Agree 100%!
We have automatic receipting on and we'd like to have it NOT send automatic emails when we enter a donation or soft credit manually. Sometimes our offline donations don't get added for a few weeks and we've already sent the person the acknowledgement - so getting another email as though they JUST donated is awkward. We turn off automatic receipts, enter donations and soft credits manually, then turn it back on. Sometimes, we forget, which causes problems. Please fix this!
Totally agree. It is insane that you can't only send automatic receipts for recurring donations.
100% agree - the autoreceipting has been an awesome option for ensuring custom but automated follow up with donors. However, there are times where I wish we could select for no auto email to be sent for special touches or the situations described below. Currently, we have to go in, turn of auto-receipts, do the processing and follow up, then go back and turn it back on. Thanks for considering and hope this comes soon!
Completely agree. When invoicing through a third party app and recording transaction in Bloomerang, having an option to specifically disable receipts for offline/third-party payments would be valuable.
I totally agree. It is very aggravating. I don't know why you can't choose which emails to send automatically. I want my monthly donors to get them but not people who are already getting them from another 3rd party vendor. It is very confusing for them. I want to be able to keep track of everything in Bloomerang but all my payments don't go through there.
I agree this is a bit awkward at best and could be confusing for the constituent.
