In our old database this field was called the HEADLINE and it was super helpful to have it right at the top! We're currently using future-dated notes and it is not ideal at all.
100% agree, please. For example, we've tried to find a way to flag donors who want only end-of-year receipts, so when a donation is entered, the acknowledgement/receipt step can be skipped. We built a Group for these donors but that requires our data entry person to switch from the transaction to the profile and back. Ideally such a flag could be added to Status, so that it would show up immediately as Deceased does now.
Please make this possible. Other CRMs have this as a basic feature. We have a Custom Field for 'Donor Summary' but it is text limited, is on the bottom of the profile page and is not easy for any member of our team to find unless they are directed. To have it on the top of the constituent header would make it easy, we would have room for more text, and be a time saver, and definetly help donor relation mishaps.
Yes, please! This would be incredibly helpful. We have currently implemented a poor workaround and a pinned note in the constituent header would add much value. This would also help compete with other platforms' features such as eTapestry's "sticky note" with a flashy note on the profile and multiple note colors to choose from.
This would be extremely useful, right now we are dating each one for the year 2099 in the timeline but those are not visible unless you click to see them. It also gets confusing to see when the information was actually entered.
At my former place of employment, I used Abila's Millennium and constituent interests auto-populated at the top of the screen for viewing (of course, they were entered elsewhere in the record). I think there was a limit to how many could be viewed along the header, but we could prioritize which were most important if needed. This was so helpful for a quick glance when working in a record, but even more so if a donor called and a gift officer needed to quickly check to see interests for that donor. I'm very surprised this isn't a feature in Bloomerang. I understand it is in Kindful though? I hope this happens soon for us as it seems like a pretty standard feature for a CRM. Thank you for the consideration.
I just submitted this same idea today. I'm seeing that yours was created a year ago. Does it really take this long to get something done here? New to Bloomerang.
I just submitted a similar idea - a flag on a consituent so you know you have to read the note at the bottom. Truly for special cases - but this information still has to be passed person-to-person in our org. I need to know the minute I see the record if there's something important about handling the constituent.
This is an option in Kindful; it seems like it could be done for Bloomerang. i found this out accidently today when using the new support page which i find very confusing. I put in a question about bloomerang notes and i get a kindful answer that i LOVE but can't use.

This really needs to occur. Bloomerang's inability to add a basic feature that allows development professionals to either leave summaries or important notes at the top of a donor profile is simply embarrassing. NXT has the "summary note" right at the top which is beyond useful. I'm six months into bloomerang and I love it all but the lack of this feature is beyond frustrating. Everytime I type donor notes I just want to put that into one note that is permanently stuck at the top and not changed with the date.
And the box I type those notes in should have the exact same functionality as the box I'm typing this comment in. It's 2023, almost 2024...come on!
Constituent notes currently get buried in the timeline. There needs to be a non-date related way to "stick" a note at the top of a record as in DonorPerfect's "narrative" field or eTapestry's "sticky notes" or Neon's "sticky notes." Adding a note with a future date is messy. Most other donor software has this feature and it is frustrating during a migration to lose this important feature.
I too have no votes left (and who wants to waste time searching old votes for ones to downgrade?!) but I completely agree - pinning notes would be a very useful feature. Bloomerang suggests using notes (with custom fields) for Grant tracking - but those notes will get quickly lost in a timeline! Not sure why this feature request is "not prioritized" when it does not seem that difficult to implement.
I understand the others who say that they do not want to clutter the timeline, and I concur!
However, it would be highly beneficial for our organization to tag EMERGENCY/RED ALERT to certain dangerous/aggressive constituents that need be blacklisted, so that all may be aware and have them on their radar.
Apparently I don't have anymore "votes" but I LOVE this idea so much! Right now we just try to remember to update notes into the current year, so they float up the timeline gradually and it is less than ideal...
One more thing - I don't think the "pinned-ness" should display on the item on the timeline itself, because it clutters the timeline, and draws your attention away from the continuity of the timeline. Maybe that could be a later feature.
Also the main thing is to be able to see the note itself, whether that be a note in a Note, or a note in a Transaction or a note in an Interaction. Why? Because there are times when something very significant about a donor might be recorded in a transaction or an interaction... Yes, Notes are dedicated to being only a note, but a note on a transaction or an interaction should not necessarily be restricted only to being a note about that particular transaciton or interaction. The transation or interaction is tied to the constituent and so it follow that any note there will be about the constituetn in some way and should be no less featureable than a dedicated Note about the constituent. Also consider that notes can be about grant tracking or almost anything else.

I could use this again and again and again....
Currently using future dated notes for this which is not ideal and causing headaches.

This would make so many improvements in our donor relations and truly be a time saver! Please add it!!

Feel this should be a basic feature in Bloomerang, especially since this is a feature that is in Kindful and competitors.
