There does not appear to be a way to add additional Types for phone numbers and this has a significant impact to data cleanliness.
I'm in the process of doing initial data migration into Bloomerang from the legacy CRM. In the legacy CRM, entering the "type" for phone numbers was not mandatory and a large majority of the records do not have any indicator as to the type of the number (Home, Work, Cell Fax), we really don't know what kind of phone number it is. Being forced to to choose one of the current fixed values will force us to mis-represent our knowledge of the kind of number it is and make our data "dirty".
Since phone numbers are important for constituent engagement, and Home, Work, Cell, FAX, have implications how to engage with Constituents, I would like to give the phone numbers that do not have a type indicated in the legacy data a type of "Unknown" or "Other" so that it is not mischaracterized, impacting operations.
Is there any way to get either "Other" or "Unknown" added to the available Phone types so the phone number is properly represented and we can keep our data clean?
BTW, the same issue exists with email address types, but that is not as critical or operationally impacting as the phone number limitation.
