An efficient way to update constituents' email interests and opt out requests based on information in a spreadsheet.

This is a CRITICAL need.
When we have users sign up for a webinar (Zoom, Teams) or register for a class, they are going to be presented with a checkbox whether to subscribe to our mailing list.
So that's their opt-in/out. Just because it didn't happen in Bloomerang doesn't mean the didn't express their choice.
But when we go to import those Constituents, we have no way to respect their choice because Bloomerang deliberately does not provide any way to import this choice.
Ironically, the customer support claims they do not give users this choice because they want Constituents to select their own preferences. Yet by NOT giving this capability, it actually has the effect of NOT respecting Constituents' preferences.
Couple that with the inability to bulk update this setting, it is effectively IMPOSSIBLE to actually respect a Constituent's choice for email preferences.
I understand that the Bloomerang team have ideas on their preferred workflow, but they can't see every workflow for every organization. For us, this makes the entire setting useless. Give us the ability to effectively manage our own users' data and preferences, please.
This should be a feature for sure. We are trying to move over our subscriber preferences in Mailchimp to Bloomerang and it isn't letting me in an import so I'll have to do it one by one which there are over 100 addresses to update. This should be a priority to fix.
Why is this feature request not prioritized? This is hugely cumbersome to have to manually update a user's email subscription status on a one-by-one basis. The only other option is to use something like Zapier -- this should be a built-in feature!
+1 We also need a way to indicate Opt-Out status and email interests when bulk adding records. Plus the ability to bulk update records to indicated their email preferences.
I believe that not being able to designate a contact's email interests at the time of contact creation violates the spirit of the CANN Spam Act. Every contact that's created (no matter if they were created by import, automation, form, etc.) will be assigned to every email interest the organization has. If I'm importing 250 people and I know their email interests already, then I have to manually edit every single one of them after import. I can't even bulk-edit them.
I should be able to apply their email interests when I know what they are. Furthermore, when you manually create a contact you have to save it, go back to editing the contact, and then edit their preferences.
We need some control here. Furthermore, just because a contact doesn't want to get a particular mailing, doesn't mean that we do not have permission to email them. Please add an "opt-out" indicator. Right now simply not being on a list is the same as having opted out, which it is not. Perhaps this is the root of the problem.

Yes, please!
